When You Turn Inspector General During House Inspection
Share:

House inspection day has a way of changing people.

You arrive calm and composed. Then slowly, something switches. You start opening wardrobes, checking tiles, tapping walls, and testing sockets. You bend down to inspect corners. You look up at the ceiling. You even pause to sniff the air.
Inspection is the only moment a tenant has full control before commitment. Once rent is paid, tolerance naturally increases. That is why inspection matters more than many people realize.

Water flow should be tested properly. Light switches should be turned on and off. Ask about electricity supply and how often power is available. Ask about flooding history, especially if the property is on a ground floor. Pay attention to vague answers. When someone says “it rarely happens,” ask how often is rare.

Do not rush because the agent is impatient or because other people are waiting. You are the one who will live there. The questions you avoid now are the problems you will manage quietly later.

Being observant during inspection saves money, stress, and regret. It is better to be detailed for one hour than uncomfortable for one year.
